New Research Shows Browser Add Ons Lead to More Clicks for Coupon Companies
Alexandria, VA (PRWEB) July 18, 2013 -- The assertion is backed by new research from Business Insider Australia which published a detailed breakdown of the rapid growth of mobile commerce in May of this year. The report, entitled “As Mobile Commerce Explodes, Brands Embrace Mobile Coupons and catalogues” found that coupons that were designed to be opened on a mobile or web enabled device such as a smartphone or iPad dramatically outperformed paper coupons in redemption levels. It states that paper coupons are redeemed at a rate of just 1% while e-based coupons are redeemed at a rate of around 10% - figures which the report expects could lead to mobile retail accounting for as much as 15% of all online purchases by the end of 2013.
Besttoolbars' own research, conducted in March 2013, found that businesses who use a browser add-on enjoy 27% more clicks than promoting offers by email online. The add-on developers are calling for cashback and coupon companies to pay heed to the two studies and combine findings to drive even greater levels of customer engagements, clicks and coupon redemption.
Valery Kuznetsov, Key Project Manager of BestToolBars said, “The Business Insider Australia study shows just how powerful mobile coupons can be. Our research shows that building a browser add-on is an equally powerful way to drive engagement and clicks. We advise businesses to use this intelligence to build a browser add-on for customers. The add-on tracks browser behaviour such as search terms used and websites visited. This can then be used to show the user coupons related to their areas of interest, which can be delivered electronically and used either on a smartphone or other mobile device. By tailoring coupons presented to the shopper, we expect purchase levels and coupon redemption levels to grow exponentially.”
BestToolBars’ browser add-on framework is designed to create bespoke add-ons for all major internet browsers. It speeds up and simplifies the browser add-on development process so coupon and cash back firms can focus on metrics that really matter. The resultant add-ons can be easily updated with a single central change rather than timely and costly changes made at an individual browser level. Existing BestToolBars Add-ons clients report increased sales of 52%, increased website traffic, the ability to deliver more timely and relevant information to customers and better consignment tracking.
