DoingSomething singletons suggest exotic date ideas to cool off in the hottest July in a decade.
(PRWEB UK) 17 July 2013 -- Leading UK activity based Dating Site sees 40,000 new Date Ideas added by members every week. And last weekend's heatwave saw some interesting trends. The site saw a 46% messaging increase this weekend. And some really quirky first date suggestions. Everything from Rooftop dates, dips in the Lido and and even Hot Tub Cinema
Whilst going to the park to cool down is normal for most people, picnicking and sunbathing makes for an unusual first date idea. 'Park Related Dates' were chosen by 32% of members.
Water based activities were popular with Casanovas too - 14% of new Date Ideas suggested involved water. Taking a trip on the Serpentine’s new ‘Solar Shuttle’ was popular with London daters, whereas brave Edinburghians suggest braving a dip in the sea at Portobello beach. In Bristol The Lido was a popular choice.
With 6% of Date Ideas up high it seems rooftop spaces are a big trend for summer dating. From Frank’s Cafe - a temporary cafe on the roof of a Peckham multistorey car park to up at the 02 - a date where you ‘climb’ the roof of the 02 hooked on with carabiner.
'Pop Up' cinema screens are popular too with 9% of daters adding this as a Date Idea, showing that a new take on an old dating classic still works. Some imaginative daters have found a way of combining Rooftops, Cinema and Hot Tubs. Hot Tub Cinema’s rooftop Summer season is frequently chosen as a date idea. A first date that’s not for wallflowers!
Matt Janes, DoingSomething.co.uk co-founder, said, "Doing something on a date naturally breaks the ice. Having a new experience like going on the Solar Shuttle or even taking a dip in the sea gives you loads more to talk about than the conversational black hole that is a dinner date. DoingSomething.co.uk is the saviour of internet dating. We’re here to put an end to awkward dates!"
It’s free to get a profile up on DoingSomething.co.uk. So adventurous singletons who fancy a date with a difference, join DoingSomething.co.uk. And to celebrate the heatwave, they’re offering 20% off in July. Use code: july20
