Nos Caves Vin is Expanding Its “Downstream” Wine Business in Houston

Nos Caves Inc., developer of the Nos Caves Vin (NCV) concept, announced plans to increase its footprint in the downstream sector of the wine business. The expansion includes additional off-site wine storage facilities and other services to be announced later in the year. “I decided to focus on the downstream sector because there are a lot of very talented people around the world making great wine – the upstream. There are a lot of very smart businesses selling wine to the consumers – the midstream. My background is wine storage so it was a natural path to focus on a very small niche in the downstream sector,” said Jost Lunstroth, the creator of the Nos Caves Vin concept and CEO of Nos Caves Inc.
“The downstream sector of the wine business, logistics and storage specifically, require a certain skill and knowledge set. We are the forefront of the private wine storage business with the Nos Caves Vin concept which we developed in 2010. Our plans are to expand to meet the ever growing needs of wine collectors in the greater Houston area,” said Lunstroth, He designed and built custom wine storage in Houston, Austin and San Antonio before starting NCV. One of his custom wine features won a national award from Sub Zero Wolfe in 2008/2009.
The first NCV opened in the Rice Village area of Houston in 2010 and the second location, in Memorial City, opened in early 2013. Kate Bourne, the General Manager, has an extensive background in restaurant and hotel management and is one of the youngest certified sommeliers in Texas.
“In addition to secure, climate controlled wine storage, NCV provides our wine collector members with a truly unique set of services – private lounge, wine events and more. Some of our new locations will be solely for wine storage,” said Bourne, “However, we do plan on opening more full service NCV locations throughout Texas.”
The Nos Caves team are wine lovers and professionals who understand how wine collectors think and how they want their prize collections cared for. “We provide Houston area wine collectors the high levels of service that they desire when it comes to transporting and storing their valuable collections.
