Coleman Chevrolet to Sponsor USA Cycling Stage Race This August
New Boston, TX (PRWEB) July 17, 2013 -- Michael Coleman, owner of Coleman Motors, has announced that again this year, they will be a major sponsor of the USA Cycling sanctioned Coleman Chevrolet Stage Race. The sponsorship will be in conjunction with race promoters, Edge City Cycling. The event will be held in Douglassville, Texas on August 10 and 11, 2013. Over the two-day period, there will be three different types of races, each designed to test the endurance, strength and speed of cyclists from all over the country. The first race, the Coleman Chevrolet Classic, is scheduled to start at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 10. These events also help bring awareness to the sport of competitive cycling in the United States.
USA Cycling sanctions these stage events all over the country with 128 cycling events scheduled to be held in Texas this year alone. Stage racing is designed to emphasize the all-around ability of the participants on a variety of terrains. In stage races, the lowest elapsed time of all the races combined determines the winner. Participants compete for cash and other prizes but more importantly, they compete to improve their abilities, which for some, can lead to a chance to be a part of an Olympic cycling team. While major events like the Coleman Chevrolet Stage Race require participants to have a USA Cycling license, anyone can get involved with their local USA Cycling chapter. The local chapters provide a variety of resources for every level of cyclist, from casual rider to Olympic competitor.
