The Few Institute Celebrates Its Fifth Anniversary
Chicago, IL (PRWEB) July 18, 2013 -- In honor of The Few Institute’s Fifth Anniversary, board-certified plastic surgeon Julius Few, MD, FACS, will host a community fundraiser on July 25, 2013 at Vertigo Sky Lounge in Chicago. The celebration will include hors d'oeuvres, drinks, a raffle and a silent auction, with proceeds benefiting the Common Ground Foundation and Youth Guidance.
The event commemorates a five-year milestone in private practice for Dr. Few and aims to give back to the city of Chicago, which has supported The Few Institute and empowered it to thrive.
“Programs like Youth Guidance and the Common Ground Foundation are vital in preparing, inspiring and motivating future generation of Chicagoans,” said Dr. Few. “These two organizations support the future of tomorrow’s leaders -- feels remarkable to have the opportunity to pay it forward.”
Both Youth Guidance and The Common Ground Foundation shape the lives of countless at-risk students by helping them gain the academic, social and emotional skills they need to stay in school, graduate and dream bigger dreams.
“Dr. Few's commitment to Chicago's youth is tremendous. He has been such an effective champion for Youth Guidance and for the 14,000 youth impacted by our programs,” said Michelle Adler Morrison, Chief Executive Officer, Youth Guidance. “Funds raised through this Anniversary celebration will go to bring our W.O.W. (Working on Womanhood) program to more at-risk girls needing our help and guidance. W.O.W is a powerful program designed to address the unique challenges girls face. The support provided by the Few Institute Anniversary will help us reach more girls...and make a significant difference in helping them reach their dreams!”
"We are grateful to Dr. Few and The Few Institute for their support of the Common Ground Foundation," said Common. "Through an impactful summer camp and year-round mentoring program, our mission is to expose our youth to new opportunities and help them share their creative gifts with the world.”
On July 25, a distinguished host committee of dynamic Chicagoans will join Dr. Few including John Carroll, James Chandler, MD, Les Coney, DC Crenshaw, Sheryl Dyer, Desiree Rogers and Norma Williams.
