Center for Discovery Sponsors The Art of Discovery Gallery Event
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) July 18, 2013 -- Center for Discovery, a national leader in residential treatment, has announced it will be sponsoring The Art of Discovery Gallery Event through its Discovery in Recovery program. The Art of Discovery Gallery Event will feature artwork from individuals recovering from eating disorders, substance abuse and mental health issues. The event will celebrate the creative talents of individuals in the process of recovery. The Art of Discovery Gallery Event will be held on Friday, July 26 from 8:00 – 10:00 PM in Los Angeles, California. As space is limited please rsvp alexia(dot)mowry(at)centerfordiscovery(dot)com.
The Art of Discovery Gallery Event is based on the belief that a true unique genius lies within the heart and soul of every recovering person. The event is a celebration of the individual road to recovery through artistic expression. Individuals may submit artwork in the form of musical pieces, essays or dimensional artwork and entries will be on display at the event. A panel of celebrity judges including Russell Brand, Bob Thiele, Jr., William James Remar, Lisa Nemi Swayze, Lesley Ann Warren, Kay Lenz, Mindy Seeger, Paul Butler, Lauren Brock and Blake Kinsey, will review all entries and a prize will be awarded to one artist in each category.
About Discovery in Recovery
Discovery in Recovery is a free community support program sponsored by Center for Discovery. Discovery in Recovery offers free meetings that are open to members of the community seeking support with recovery. The program provides separate meetings for teens and parents, at the same time, run by counselors. In addition to the free weeknight support groups, Discovery in Recovery also offers other free resources to schools, churches and the communities. These resources include crisis intervention referrals and phone assessments to provide resources appropriate to the needs of callers.
