Bupa Health Twitter Chat #HealthyChat Kicks off Open Mic with Dietitian
Sydney, NSW (PRWEB) July 19, 2013 -- #HealthyChat, known as Bupa’s weekly ‘appointment with a dietitian’, will be breaking free from scheduled discussions once a month with its new open mic sessions. The sessions will give Twitter users the chance to have their health and nutrition questions answered by qualified Bupa dietitians.
Accredited Practising Dietitian and Bupa dietitian, Rosalyn D’Angelo, said #HealthyChat aims to give everyone access to advice from qualified dietitians.
“We all need a little help when trying to meet our health goals but we don’t always know where to go for the right information. With so much information on the web – which sometimes does more harm than good – #HealthyChat provides real-time professional healthcare advice without having to resort to searching the Internet. It’s almost like a virtual appointment!” Rosalyn said.
#HealthyChat provides support to anyone looking for tips on how they can be healthier as well as providing a platform to chat about the highs and lows in trying to get there. The dietitians share online resources from inspiring videos to topical news stories and answer key questions on the week’s topic.
Weekly scheduled #HealthyChat sessions will continue on Twitter every Tuesday at 8pm AEST, with the new open mic sessions taking charge on the last Tuesday of every month. Twitter users will ‘have the floor’ for a free, online ‘appointment with the dietitian’ by putting their questions relating to health and eating habits to qualified health experts.
Bupa dietitians are online for 45 minutes during every #HealthyChat session and discuss different topics which, in the past, have included sustainable eating and family nutrition. Participants follow and interact by including #HealthyChat in their tweet.
“Twitter users can also follow the discussion to see what burning questions are on the minds of others. People may even find some comfort in knowing that other people are facing similar challenges, and that they are not alone,” Rosalyn said.
