Mark G. Fehlig, P.E. Joins LBA Group’s Engineering Team
Greenville, NC (PRWEB) July 18, 2013 -- LBA Group, Inc. Chief Technical Officer Dr. Chris Horne, P.E., announced that the company’s technical team roster has expanded with the addition of Mark G. Fehlig, P.E. Fehlig is a veteran communications engineer who has racked up decades of experience at national and global brands such as Scientific Atlanta, Harris Corporation and Georgia Public Broadcasting.
He was involved in the early years of developing satellite uplink and video compression technologies at Scientific Atlanta and Harris Corporation where he also contributed to sales, marketing and engineering as a TV district manager. He led the transition from analog to digital for both DTV and IBOC FM radio as Director of Engineering for Georgia Public Broadcasting.
In his new role, Fehlig will support radio frequency communications and signaling interference prevention and remediation projects for railroads, broadband wireless carriers, and industrial SCADA operators. Once merely an annoyance, with the proliferation of wireless systems of all sorts, radio frequency “RF” interference has become a critical constraint on safe, effective control and communications system performance. LBA is currently supporting RF projects for major wireless carriers, power companies, hospitals, light rail systems, and others – worldwide.
“A seasoned professional engineer, Mark brings to the table both technical and project management experience that will be instrumental in adding more value for our customers,” said Horne.
Fehlig holds numerous professional memberships and certifications. A few of them include the CPBE as well as being Certification Chairman for SBE Chapter #5 Atlanta, a senior IEEE member, SMPTE Manager, SSPI SE treasurer, AFCCE Full Member, ARRL-VEC and a Registered Professional Engineer with NCEES Council Record. A State PE license is the engineering profession's highest standard of competence, a symbol of achievement and assurance of quality.
“I am happy to be here and looking forward to contributing to the many special and unique project opportunities LBA is known for across the country and the world,” said Fehlig.
Some Ham Radio operators may know him as WA6NGC. Fehlig is an FCC licensed Lifetime General and Amateur Extra. Fehlig earned his BSEE from The Missouri University of Science and Technology (UMR) and an MBA from Quincy University (IL).
“We welcome Mark to the team,” said LBA President and COO, Jerry Brown. “Mark brings a set of technical and management skills that are critical as LBA expands to meet the growing demand for quality RF engineering services across a number of different business and industry sectors,” added Brown.
