SAE Institute New York to Present 2nd Annual Alumni Awards at The Cutting Room
New York, NY (PRWEB) July 22, 2013 -- SAE Institute, which was recently recognized as being the best audio engineering school in America by Vibe Magazine, will present its second annual Alumni Awards ceremony on Wednesday, July 31, from 6:00PM to 9:00PM. The ceremony is open to the public and will take place at The Cutting Room, 44 E.32nd Street in Manhattan.
"Our Alumni Awards will celebrate the outstanding achievements that SAE grads have made in the audio industry over the past year," says Michael Morrell, Campus Director for SAE New York. "There will also be great performances by SAE-related bands as well as fantastic networking opportunities for engineers and producers who are trying to meet key players and create valuable connections."
Awards will be given out to SAE alumni who have achieved noteworthy success in the following categories:
• Start-Up Business
• Best Performance in a Non-Engineering Role
• Outstanding Achievement in Live Sound
• Outstanding Achievement in Post-Production
• Rising Star
• Engineer of the Year
Industry judges will include Howard Bowler/HOBO Audio, Joe Lambert/Joe Lambert Mastering, Selby Ham/Lenox Lounge, Don Wershba/Solid State Logic, and Tony Drootin/Area 51 Studios. Musical performances will include The Black Tie Affair, Blue & Gold, Galapagos Now, and Bugs In The Dark – all of which are affiliated with SAE students or alumni. The event will be hosted by SAE’s Career Services Coordinator Jeff Lanier and veteran Post-Production Engineer Julienne Guffain.
"The SAE Alumni Awards ceremony will assemble some of the premier engineering and production talent in New York," says Morrell. "We’re looking forward to an incredible evening of networking, entertainment, and well-deserved recognition of our talented alumni nominees."
