Proxy Server USA Introduces American Web Experience to the World
Dallas, Texas (PRWEB) July 19, 2013 -- idcloak follows its recent release of the public Free US Proxy list with an entirely in-house web anonymity service: the free Proxy server USA. This site-based service, which appears much like a search engine, allows a user in any geolocation to access the internet anonymously through an American server.
Traditional applications for this kind of service include accessing YouTube content that is unavailable locally, bypassing state or local censorship of the net, and visiting sites anonymously (without exposing IP information to their internet logs). Holiday-makers and expats also use proxies to restore their internet experience and language to how it was back at home.
The decision to release the Proxy Server USA was formed of several reasons, idcloak’s Robin Welles explains: “We understood that volunteer-owned public IP proxies carry certain risks. For one, nobody can be sure who operates them – and that can be disconcerting when all your browsing is tunneled through their servers; even over HTTPS. The only way we as a firm could definitively say ‘your proxy browsing won’t be monitored’ is if we set up the proxy ourselves.”
Educational marketing is another reason idcloak cites for offering a site-based proxy on top of its existing public US proxy list: “For one, web-based proxies are much simpler to use, and first-time users are more at ease with using a service from a web page than having to mess with network settings. And of course we want to raise the profile of relocated internet connections in advance of our launch of the idcloak VPN in September.”
There were several technical reasons for the release as well, “Users have much more control over the type of proxy connection they establish through a web proxy. We deployed a triple-layer encryption system to the web proxy – with the option to activate security on the page, the URL and the connection. When this is combined with the high-anonymity status of the proxy itself, you are left with a pretty good identity guard. And that’s a desirable commodity for many people today,” says Welles, in reference to the recent NSA surveillance controversy.
The idcloak Web Proxy USA is free to use and can be accessed through the idcloak.com site. A Japanese version, the Japan Web Proxy, is also available.
