Trident Systems Inc. Shipping Portable Ruggedized 60” LCD
Fairfax, Virginia (PRWEB) July 24, 2013 -- Trident Systems Inc. is now shipping its third generation ruggedized Rapid Deployable Display (RDD). Replacing the previous 55” RDD, the new 60” RDD meets the updated MIL-STD-1472G for four-man lift, and has several height adjustments for DoD-HDBK-743A compliance.
Designed to be operational within minutes in an emergency ad-hoc command center, on the battlefield, or as part of a larger mobile combat operation center, the new RDD is housed in a water-tight, ruggedized enclosure that can be transported easily while fully protecting the LED LCD.
The new RDD can be fitted with a very small TAA compliant Intel display processor (DP) that provides additional functionality to the RDD. The TAA compliant DP is also equipped with a removable solid state drive (SSD) making it possible to protect the system data and use the RDD on either secure or non-secure networks.
When used with Trident’s IP-Based Video Distribution System (VDS), the RDD can aggregate up to five video and desktop sources into the 60” display. With the lateral adjustment feature, up to three RDD LCDs can be butted together for seamless interaction. Additionally, Trident’s VDS allows the three screens to be viewed as a single video wall supporting up to 15 video sources.
“Our third generation RDD and Video Distribution System is the video centerpiece of the Marine Corps’ new Combat Operations Center Hardware Modernization Baseline,” said James O’Looney, Director of Integrated C4I Systems. “It represents collaborative work between our customers and our in-house mechanical and IP video engineers. We are pleased to be selected as the IP video provider for this technology update.”
The new design also incorporates a lighter, stronger, lift mechanism that can now accommodate any VESA large screen display from 46”-60”. New handles and friction-reducing material make it easier to lift and stow the monitor.
