Bellucci Premium Comments on India’s Rising Demand for Olive Oil
Bohemia, NY (PRWEB) July 23, 2013 -- On July 23, Bellucci Premium reacts to an article by the Daily News that describes the benefits of olive oil and how its medical benefits are affecting people in India.
According to an article published on July 1st by the Daily News titled, “Diabetes, heart diseases boost olive oil demands in India,” olive oil usage in India has increased. The cause for the rise in demand for olive oil is due to India’s large demographic of people who are affected by medical disorders such as diabetes, hypertension and heart disease.
Olive oil has many different health benefits. The article states that olive oil can help prevent many diseases that are largely present in India. The article also mentioned that olive oil can help prevent or halt the progression of certain cancers. “It is considered good for health as it contains low saturated fat and high percentage of mono unsaturated fat,” according to the article.
Just like any other vital resource, the price of olive oil has been increasing due to demand. “Imports of olive oil in India surged by 66 percent to 11,916.76 tonnes in the financial year ended March 31, 2013,” according to data from the Indian Olive Association.” They also stated that imports are expected to increase 40 percent annually for the next five years.
Natalie Sexenian, marketing manager for Italian olive oil producer Bellucci Premium, says that the increase in demand for olive oil in India shows the great impact that olive oil can have on the body. “Due to recent research on the benefits of olive oil, it is no surprise that demand would rise.”
“The next step in meeting this demand is to make sure that the imported olive oil is authentic,” says Sexenian. “It is all too common for olive oil bottles to be mislabeled. That’s why at Bellucci Premium, we provide a traceability feature that allows customers to see exactly where the olives used to produce the extra virgin olive oil came from.”
Bellucci offers three different types of oil, including an organic option, with a mild peppery flavor and fruity undertones that will satisfy any palate. Bellucci Premium Toscano extra virgin olive oil uses olives that are grown on the beautiful landscapes of Tuscany, and maintained by 3rd and 4th generation farmers. The third type of oil Bellucci produces is the finest 100% Italian extra virgin olive oil, grown in many different regions of Italy.
