Junior Statesmen Students Join No Labels Congressional Problem Solvers at Rally to Make Government Work
Washington, DC (PRWEB) July 19, 2013 -- Members of the Junior State of America's (JSA) Summer School at Georgetown University attended the July 18th Rally to Make Government Work on Capitol Hill. There they heard from members of the No Labels Problem Solvers, a group of Congresspeople and Senators committed to working across the aisle toward common-sense solutions. The students attended the rally as an extension of the JSA Summer School's civic education curriculum.
A small group of JSA leaders were also chosen to attend some No Labels Citizen Training sessions before the rally. There, they had an opportunity to hear from No Labels Co-Chairman Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) about the "Make Government Work!" Legislative package which consists of 18 bills supported by the 81 members of the House and Senate in the No Labels Problem Solvers Block.
The chance to meet political leaders and hear their solutions to the gridlock that affects young people proved exciting to the students. "Meeting with the Problem Solvers who are working to repair our government was inspiring and Unforgettable. Only at JSA Summer School can you meet about and discuss bipartisan legislation with the people actually working to get it passed," said JSA Northern California Joshua Kisbye
Junior Statesmen Summer Schools are taking place this summer at Georgetown University, Princeton University, Stanford University, the University of Virginia, and Capital Normal University in Beijing, China.
