The CEREC procedure uses the most recent technology to allow patients the convenience of a one-time visit to complete crowns.

Dr. Richard E. Sprague of Dental 90210 recently introduced CEREC (Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics) technology to his practice for patients seeking a beautiful smile without the many inconveniences associated with previous procedures. The CEREC procedure uses the most recent technology to allow patients the convenience of a one-time visit to complete crowns. In this one-time visit, Dr. Sprague can fit, create and place a new crown.
By using a 3D computer imaging machine, Dr. Sprague virtually designs the crown with accurate measurements. After the specific crown is created, the machine sculpts the exact crown from ceramic material. The crown is then placed in an oven to cure for a short period of time, and is then placed on the patient’s tooth for an ultraprecise fitted crown.
Before the CEREC machine, Dr. Sprague’s patients who needed crowns would schedule an initial appointment where an impression of their tooth structure and bite would be taken. Dr. Sprague would fit the patient for a temporary crown while the impressions were sent to a lab, allowing other technicians to sculpt the crown. The crown would then be sent back to the office, requiring about two weeks to complete. The patient would then return to his office for a second appointment and have the permanent crown placed. CEREC eliminates the long process and still provides the patient with an accurate and permanent crown.
"For many years, I observed how discouraged patients were when I would have to tell them that they would need to return after a couple weeks while crowns were created," said Dr. Richard E. Sprague of Dental 90210. "For patients who need restorative dentistry right away due to a major event, travel, or simply convenience, CEREC is the best option and it gives me great satisfaction to know that we’re providing a better experience for our patients."
Dr. Sprague is committed to providing patients in the Beverly Hills area with the latest technology in cosmetic dentistry. In addition to CEREC, Dr. Richard E. Sprague provides dental implants, emergency dental care, sedation dentistry, and TMJ dentistry in Beverly Hills, CA.
