Unblock Web Proxy ‘Tunnels Out of Internet Censorship’
Dallas, Texas (PRWEB) July 20, 2013 -- This week, idcloak launches a site-based Unblock Web Proxy for users facing any form of censorship on their internet connection: be it locally, nationwide or due to the site’s own geographical access privileges.
Robin Welles, of the idcloak research team, introduces the release, saying the proxy unblocker essentially ‘tunnels out of internet censorship.’
“A web proxy is a server based in a remote location,” adds Welles. “The user can ask it to access internet pages for them when connection to those pages is normally blocked. Because the proxy is high-anonymity, it will conceal all evidence of proxy use from its headers. This makes it just as effective at unblocking georestrictions as web filters.”
The idcloak Unblock Web Proxy further differs from commonly found alternatives in that it offers three encryption options – SSL connection, Encrypt URL and Encrypt Page. When used in tandem to access a blocked page, it becomes extremely difficult for a censoring filter to spot that banned content is being accessed.
idcloak offers the web proxy free of both charge and advertising, “We have long term goals as a company in this field and we don’t want to drive our future customer base away by dragging down user experience.”
The release comes between idcloak’s launch of a public HTTPS proxy list, a live-updating searchable database of all major IP proxies in the world, and its flagship VPN service, scheduled for September 2013.
For more details on censorship circumvention strategies and services, Welles recommends her article: How to unblock a website, “Proxies have all kinds of functions and features, and web proxies are limited to HTTP, so can’t be used to unblock services like Skype, for example. Users should read up on unblocking strategies as censorship circumvention is one of those fields where a little time invested in education leads to a lot of time saved in actual practice.”
