National Provider of Wheelchair Vans Expands to 25 Showrooms
Akron, OH (PRWEB) July 19, 2013 -- MobilityWorks, the leading retailer of adaptive vehicles in the United States, has announced the acquisition of specific assets of Tennessee Mobility located in Gallatin, TN. With this new location, MobilityWorks will have 25 consumer showrooms in 12 US states. Another location in Oakland, CA is scheduled to open in August.
Established in 1999, Tennessee Mobility, Inc was started as a family business serving the populations of Northern Tennessee and Southern Kentucky. All services at the Gallatin location going forward will be operated under the MobilityWorks name. A wide selection of new and pre-owned handicap vans is being shipped to the Gallatin store within the next two weeks for the public to come and visit. Showroom hours will initially be from 8AM to 5PM weekdays and Saturdays by appointment. The company will also accommodate at-home demonstrations in the near future for those who cannot travel to the store. Scott Sorenson, MobilityWorks Regional Manager, will be in charge of the transition with assistance from Neal Johnson, General Manager of the MobilityWorks Nashville store. Clients can call Mr. Sorenson at 615-451-7373 or the Nashville service desk at 615-280-5058 to schedule a service appointment.
MobilityWorks, founded in 1997 with one location, has doubled in size in the last six years – going from 12 stores in 2007 to 25 in 2013. The company acquired Nor-Cal Mobility of California in 2012 with four showroom locations in Chico, Fresno, Sacramento and Burlingame near San Francisco. According to Bill Koeblitz, MobilityWorks CEO/President, the key to their success is all about choice and keeping customers happy: “People in wheelchairs are just like everyone else when shopping for a new vehicle. Like any other car buyer, they want lots of choices and all the latest features,” said Koeblitz.
Known for having the largest selection of accessible vans in the country for people to purchase or rent, MobilityWorks has built the most distinguishable brand name in the industry. They are the largest dealer in the country of BraunAbility and Vantage Mobility International (VMI) conversions, including Dodge, Chrysler, Honda and Toyota models. The company also manufactures its own Ford Transit Connect conversion with a rear entry ramp. Scooter and power chair lifts are also options to help with lifting and transporting a mobility device. They even have seating and lift devices for pickup trucks.
To help clients with the selection process, MobilityWorks employs specially trained Certified Mobility Consultants to demonstrate and explain the various options. They also advise on resources for financing and identify any grant opportunities, such as the Veterans Benefits Administration automobile and adaptive equipment program. Consultations are free at MobilityWorks, however setting up an appointment beforehand is recommended.
“Getting good advice from a consultant early in the process is critical to making the right decision,” added Koeblitz. “We pride ourselves on customer satisfaction – and that’s where the most important part of being happy with us and the vehicle begins.”
In addition to providing consumers with wheelchair accessible vans, its Commercial Division manufactures non-emergency ambulette vans, shuttle vans, paratransit busses and, more recently, accessible taxis. They serve business clients in all 50 US states as well as other countries.
