The National Council for Hypnotherapy Responds to New Statistics Showing the Levels of Depression in Children
(PRWEB UK) 22 July 2013 -- According to the BBC in an article published on the 5th July 2013, named '1 in 5 children suffer from symptoms of depression', new research has suggested that there are high levels of young people suffering from mental health problems. The survey carried out by YouGov found that 1 in 5 has symptoms of depression and almost a third of the 16-25 year old surveyed had thought about or attempted suicide.
In response to the findings, the National Council for Hypnotherapy is set to highlight the benefits of using hypnotherapy to relieve symptoms of mild mental health problems. The National Council’s members consist of professionally qualified hypnotists who can use hypnotic techniques to discover the root of the problem and to help the client understand and acknowledge how they are feeling. A spokesperson from the Council added:
“Whilst more serious mental health issues should be dealt with by qualified medical practitioners, hypnotherapy can help with mild disorders such as anxiety or depression.
"The client will be made to feel comfortable and encouraged to chat about how they feel whilst employing hypnotic techniques to reduce stress and upset.”
The National Council for Hypnotherapy continues to highlight the various uses of hypnotherapy.
