Stage 2 Networks Completes Major Northeast Corridor Network Build and Announces Commencement of National On-Net MPLS Service
New York, NY (PRWEB) July 22, 2013 -- Stage 2 Networks, an enterprise cloud communications leader in major US markets announces Phase One completion of its planned network augments for 2013.
Stage 2 has fielded a fault tolerant fiber optical Metro Ethernet core to service its On-Net points of presence in New York, New Jersey and the surrounding markets. “This is a carrier grade deployment that provides complete physical diversity while delivering high capacity and ultra-low latency service. The interconnects between our points of presence on this network traverse distinctly different underlying physical fiber rings, optical transport equipment and building points of entry,” said Tom Faherty, CTO of Stage 2 Networks.
In conjunction with this deployment Stage 2 has also brought a new core facility on-line at a well-known carrier collocation data center, 165 Halsey Street in Newark, NJ, and completed a network wide augment which delivers an additional 4 Gigabits per second of IP transit capacity. “Our Newark facility offers added geographic redundancy for key services and systems in our Northeast Corridor footprint and enables Phase Two of our planned system augments here in the third quarter of 2013. The additional IP transit capacity through select Tier-One partners allows us to bundle high-capacity Internet access with our cloud based voice solutions delivered over dynamic QoS enabled On-Net circuits,” said Tom Faherty, CTO of Stage 2 Networks.
Leveraging its investment in new core network hardware, infrastructure and network to network interconnection (NNI) agreements, Stage 2 is now pleased to announce general deployment of its On-Net MPLS service offering with reach into markets across the 48 contiguous States of the domestic US. “We’re truly excited to expand our MPLS capability to include enhanced On-Net service nationwide. Stage 2 has enjoyed success with MPLS through strategic partnerships with select carriers. With our 2013 network expansion we introduce MPLS to our network core. This allows us to construct solutions leveraging local loops from any of the national transport partners with whom we built NNIs to earlier this year.
