CleContact Lenses has hit their second major social media milestone: 1000 Facebook fans. This has come after over a hundred informative, witty, and engaging posts since October of 2012. Examples of posts include funny pictures of dogs in sunglasses, tutorial videos, and eye care related news updates.
The campaign, which started last year, was one part of a large social media and brand redevelopment project that CleContact Lenses started. They have also had recent success in other social media channels.
"Facebook is definitely a very interesting beast. It's not like YouTube or Instagram that have a specific purpose. When people use Youtube there is a lot of interaction going on in the comments, messages, likes, etc, but the site's core function is for one purpose: videos. It's a similar model for pictures on Instagram. Facebook however is a gigantic mesh of all of them. You can post status's like on twitter, upload videos like on youtube, and post pictures like on Instagram. Then on top of all this, you have user profiles and fan/company pages. It can be extremely difficult to get just right if your brand direction isn't set in stone, and I think that's something we're finally starting to accomplish." - Matt from Cle Contact Lenses (an Eye Care Associates, LLC brand)
Eye Care Associates, LLC's other brand, ShopCLE, has also seen an increasing Facebook presence. That Facebook page which started in spring of last year has just under 400 likes and over 100 posts to date. Shopcle specializes in selling the brand's designer sunglasses, whereas Cle Contact Lenses focus's on contact lenses.
Eye care Associates states that they want to use social media mediums, focusing heavily on Facebook and Youtube, to grow their new age brand image.
"It's the fact that social media is so interactive. Facebook is so advanced these days that you can make your advertisements interactive, and even the ads get hundreds of likes and follows. The more you can engage your audience, the better the feedback you get and therefore the better you can serve them. We also love the fact that on Facebook, by the nature of the site, it encourages fans and followers to not just interact with us, but interact with each other. It creates a sense of a brand community that simply can't be found on any other medium." - Matt from Cle Contact Lenses
Eye Care Associates, LLC is just one of a handful of authorized contact lens and designer sunglasses retailers. They feature key brands like Acuvue, Ray Ban, and Oakley.
