Launch of TennisAnywhere.net Helps Players Organize Pick-up Games
Marietta, GA (PRWEB) July 22, 2013 -- Tennis players looking for pick-up games across the country now have an easy way to organize play with the launch of TennisAnywhere.net.
The website, developed by avid tennis players, allows members to schedule impromptu pick up games virtually anywhere in the United States. Designed for players of all skill levels, the site is completely free to use and offers a simple way to organize pick-up games (PUGs) at tennis clubs, parks and other venues where players have access to courts. TennisAnywhere.net is a significant improvement over the old method of calling and texting friends and trying to work around different schedules to come up with enough players, and its convenience will continue to grow as more and more tennis players join.
“We are very pleased to announce the launch of TennisAnywhere.net, which allows members to meet other players and organize games using a single online platform,” said Kyle Offermann, RN, BSN, BSBA and founder of TennisAnywhere.net. “When you play against different people and push yourself to your competitive limits, you become a better player and the exercise helps improve your overall level of health and fitness. Whether you’re advanced or just a beginner, you can organize pick-up games at your level, in your area and at your convenience through TennisAnywhere.net.”
The website originated with a group of strangers who eventually became good friends through the PUGs they organized with each other in the East Cobb area of Marietta, Georgia. The group eventually grew beyond its city, which inspired Offermann to create a platform that could be used by members virtually anywhere.
TennisAnywhere.net allows players to create a profile and an event in their area to attract others who are at similar skill levels. Registered members may start PUGs by posting a day, time and location, as well as the skill level desired. There are three categories of PUGs to choose from, including social, competitive and private. Members are encouraged to set up their own PUGs or join those set up by others, and there are automated tools available to keep all players updated on any changes.
The website also allows members to expand their networks by connecting with people they meet at scheduled PUGs and developing friend lists to invite people they’ve played with before. It also includes features allowing coaches or team captains to set up fee-based drills, clinics and round robins. Once created, new events are displayed on the home page as a color tile that’s visible for the duration of the event.
Players can find courts to play using TennisAnywhere.net’s court maps and set up a PUG from the map. Members can earn points by organizing or attending PUGs. In this way, members are able to build strong reputations on the site.
“Tennis Anywhere really means anywhere and is meant for all levels of players,” said Offermann. “We wanted to establish an open, welcoming community that helps people expand their horizons, play with new people and improve their health no matter where they live.”
TennisAnywhere.net takes members’ privacy seriously and does not share any information with third parties. Profiles are kept private until a member has joined a PUG or organized his or her own. TennisAnywhere.net was also recently designated a Tennis Welcome Center by the Tennis Industry Association, and is a new corporate member of the United States Tennis Association.
