Online Marketing Firm, fishbat, Encourages Attendance at Open Water Swim Event

Bohemia, NY (PRWEB) July 20, 2013 -- Online marketing firm fishbat urges people to attend Open Water Swim LLC’s, charity ocean swim event at Atlantique Beach on Fire Island today.

Clay Darrohn, the CEO and “Big Tuna” of the online marketing firm fishbat,encourages people to watch the event. “Not only does Open Water Swim always organize a really great event, but it’s for a good cause.” he says. “Proceeds will be donated to HOSPICE Care Network Children and Bereavement program and Fire Island Ocean Rescue. These are two really great organizations that need to be recognized and this event hopes to accomplish that. Even if you just want to have a fun day at the beach, is a good way to help out local organizations that care for people and save lives every day.”

Darrohn says the 2nd annual Fire Island ocean swim event will consist of three races: a 1 mile, a 5k and a 10k.“Over 70 of the best swimmers in the country will be there participating in the race,” he says. “Swimmers will have to swim from Atlantique Beach to Kismet and back for the 5k. The 5k has also been classified as a Zone Championship race, so participants will compete to be the fastest swimmers in the zone.”

Swimmers competing in the 10k will take the same route as swimmers in the 5k, but make an additional loop. Those swimming in the one-mile race will swim from Atlantique to Fair Harbor and back.

“While the forecast is looking like there will be afternoon thunderstorms, the event will still go on, rain or shine,” Darrohn says. “Lightning will cancel the event. Regardless, it's still going to be a fun event, especially in the morning. I think the weather will hold off, so I definitely encourage people to come watch the races. .”

The first race will be held at 11:15 a.m. at Atlantique Beach on Fire Island. Attendees must take the Bay Shore Fire Island ferries to access the beach. Ferry schedules are available online.
