(PRWEB) July 23, 2013 -- In this credit card world there are those that still use cash for their daily transactions. These are potential renters that many car rental agencies are missing.
A person not using a credit card through choice is often as good a risk, and perhaps better than many of those who use credit cards. A non credit card user that is currently employed full time in the same job for over a year, and has an address and phone number listed in the local telephone directory is an excellent risk, and can be a very worthwhile new renter for any car rental agency.
If a client wishes to rent for cash, following these steps without variation will result in a very good business relationship:
1. The renter must have a picture DL with the renter’s current address.
2. The address and phone number must be confirmed using the local telephone directory.
3. The renter must be employed full-time and this must be confirmed with the employer. Ask the employer if the renter is currently working, as in not laid off, and that there are no plans to dismiss the renter.
4. A cash deposit large enough to cover the rental cost and any collision deductible, plus a few hundred more must be held by the rental agency, until the rental has been completed and the car is returned.
If these four steps are followed without exception, the chance of the cash rental going sideways is less of a risk than a credit card rental.
