Anvil Attachments Donates to Oklahoma Tornado Victims
Slaughter, LA (PRWEB) July 22, 2013 -- Being from Louisiana, the employees at Anvil Attachments understand what devastating effects a natural disaster can have on a community. Anvil Attachments is located in Slaughter, a small town about 90 miles north of New Orleans, Louisiana. Anvil felt the full force of hurricanes such as Katrina, Andrew and Gustav and has experienced the destruction which they cause.
When the deadly tornado struck Oklahoma City in May, Anvil employees took it upon themselves to step up and help out. Jay Landaiche, Anvil’s safety manager, says, “During our daily safety meetings, the employees were talking among themselves and decided they wanted to help the victims.” Jay helped organize the donations. The employees set a goal and a deadline. Over the course of two weeks, the employees collected cash, canned goods, non-perishable items, clothing and other needs that people have after such a disaster. “Living in hurricane alley, we have experience as to what people’s basic needs are after an event like a hurricane or tornado.” All in all, Anvil’s employees collected over $600 in cash and more than 150 pounds of canned goods and non-perishable items. The employees decided the most direct way to get these items to the people in need was through a local Oklahoma church. Anvil packed up the items and shipped them to that church in Oklahoma City for distribution to the people who needed it the most.
Anvil Attachments is the premier manufacturer of cable and hydraulic clamshell buckets and grapples and diesel hydraulic buckets and grapples. Anvil manufactures items for purchase and rent and rebuilds all brands of buckets and grapples.
