Gail Giovanniello, PMA® CPT & Advanced Senior Pilates Teacher UES Now Director of Mind Your Body Pilates Teacher Training for New Pilates Instructor Students in Fall 2013
New York, NY (PRWEB) July 30, 2013 -- Gail Giovanniello, Advanced Senior Pilates Teacher UES and owner of Mind Your Body Pilates NYC continues her commitment to vitally passing the torch of past Pilates masters through her creation and direction of the new Mind Your Body Pilates Teacher Training starting in the Fall of 2013.
Gail's long-time continued study with Deborah Lessen - a protege of a Joseph Pilates direct-descendent student Carola Trier and also very dear friend and colleague of another Pilates first-generation teacher, Kathy Grant - has ingrained in Gail, not just particular teachings, but also specific ways of passing on these teachings to others. Both Gail and Deborah are committed especially to passing on the particular ways that Carola Trier contributed to Joseph Pilates original vision and expanded upon it as well.
The subtle agreement between a protege and a student who's adept to continue the work of a master teacher seems suddenly sprung-upon with surprise, but the process to get there is gradual, low-key and eventually the decision is one of obviousness. The lineage is thus: Joseph Pilates is the original master - Carola Trier is first-generation - Deborah Lessen second generation and Gail is third-generation teacher descended from Joseph's direct line.
Says Gail: "During the first ten to fifteen years of owning and managing my studio, I did not feel I was experienced enough to offer Pilates Teacher Training. Recently, twenty years had passed since the time I first started teaching clients. I casually asked Deb Lessen, 'Who is going to continue Carola's work?' And she replied, 'You are!'"
As well, Gail's relationship with and regard for the Pilates Method Alliance - of which Deborah Lessen is a founding member and which Gail has been certified since 2009 - has deepened in recent months with an invitation for her participation in panel discussions regarding PMA® exam questions for global Pilates Teacher Training focused on at the Pilates Summit held in Florida in early June. Students of the Mind Your Body Pilates Teacher Training can be assured of receiving the most up-to-date methods and advancements in the proper forms of teaching the method in the way that Joseph Pilates originally intended and passed on from master to protege. Although not a requirement of the program, full-time Mind Your Body Pilates Teacher Training students will be well-prepared to be able to take the PMA® exam if so desired.
PMA® CPT stands for Pilates Method Alliance® Certified Pilates Teacher and is the professional designation for a teacher who has completed specific training and practice teaching hours as well as passed the exam given by the PMA® whose purpose in part is to further the public regard for the profession of Pilates teachers.
