Supriya Chakraborty, Master Black Belt, Dominates Operational Excellence, Lean Six Sigma North America Championship
(PRWEB) July 22, 2013 -- The Shingo Model Operational Excellence Competition hosted Master Black Belts from Canada, the United States of America and Mexico for two days of non-stop pulse-pounding operational excellence challenges. Supriya Chakraborty, the winning Master Black Belt said, “Competing with and against Master Black Belts from around North America was an incredible opportunity and really fun”. The competition was fierce but Mr. Chakraborty triumphed by articulating that improvement is hard work! He stated “It [improvement] requires great leaders, smart managers, and empowered people. Improvement cannot be delegated down, organized into a program, or trained into people. Improvement requires more than the application of new tool sets or the power of a charismatic personality. Sustaining and effective improvement requires the transformation of the culture to one where every single person is engaged every day, most often effecting small changes, but from time to time, large change.”
The distinguished Master Black Belts discussed and shared their knowledge in creating excellence in organizations through the application of timeless, universal, and self-evident principles of operational excellence; which includes alignment of management systems; and the wise application of improvement techniques across the entire organizational enterprise to defeat the opposition. The competition was designed as a vehicle for demonstrating and sharing the four basic dimensions of Shingo Model - Cultural Enablers, Continuous Process Improvement, Enterprise Alignment, and Results in a fun, non-traditional environment. “We are committed to providing opportunities such as this nationwide competition to further motivate operational excellence practitioners to be passionate about leading organizations towards excellence,” said James F. Albaugh, Executive Vice President, The Boeing Company and board of education in Shingo Enterprise. “Our goal is to have these Master Black Belts apply the knowledge they acquire with Shingo Model to real-world challenges.”
