AIMING Formally Launches the New Mylius MY-103 Aircraft Program
Medellín, AN (PRWEB) July 24, 2013 -- Colombian airframe integrator AIMING (Aero Integration & Manufacturing S.A.S.) has officially launched the new version of the Mylius MY-103 Mistral single engine training aircraft during the F-Air show in Rionegro, Colombia during the 2013 version held last week.
The MY-103 is a two seater aerobatic trainer based on the famous Bo-209 developed in the early 70’s by MBB in Germany. Both aircraft were designed by engineers Hermann and Albert Mylius. The previous version of the Mistral was introduced to the aviation community at AERO show in Friedrichshafen in 1999 with conventional cockpit instrumentation. The new version presented at F-Air incorporates a totally redesigned instrument panel around the Aspen Avionics Evolution 2000 flight displays and a Honeywell KSN 770 FMS on a full IFR installation.
The aircraft combines features that make it ideal for a training aircraft: aerobatic (up to +6, -4,5g’s), ground foldable wings, retractable nose gear, carbon fiber seats and sliding canopy and fairings combined with a strong and easy to maintain metallic structure.
The aircraft is designed following EASA standards that will be updated to current CS-23 revision in order to obtain a type certification in Colombia as first stage before it is presented to the European regulatory body for certification in that continent.
