Tips for A Safe And Healthy Summer Camp Experience from LivingWithAsthma.net
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) July 23, 2013 -- It’s that time of year again, time to pack the little ones bags and send them off to summer camp. Summer camp can seem like an impossible situation for mothers of children with asthma, but with a little preparation, children can have a safe and healthy experience, says Carolyn Roberts, founder of LivingWithAsthma.net.
Carolyn, who co-founded LivingWithAsthma.net as an outlet to help other moms of asthmatic children after her experiences learning with her son Jack, chronicles her experiences as an “Asthma Mom” on the site’s blog. She recently sent Jack off to his own summer camp and shared her personal worries with readers. “After sending my asthmatic son Jack off to summer camp for the first time, I wanted to share tips and tricks to give other anxious moms some peace of mind,” says Carolyn.

Through her experiences, Carolyn has come up with a “survival guide” for other mothers to follow to ensure that their children have a safe and healthy summer.
LivingWithAsthma.net’s Summer Camp Survival Guide:
• Know your child's asthma triggers - molds, pollens, perfumes, etc.
• Alert counselors and camp nurse to your child’s condition
• Pack inhalers, hypo-allergenic pillow cases and fresh sheets
• Visit your doctor beforehand to make sure all medications are up to date, etc.
• Create an Asthma Action Plan with your doctor to pass along to the camp nurse and camp director
• Know which physical activities may cause your child’s symptoms to flare and alert the counselor
