MadgeTech, Inc., Releases the New VTMS, Vaccine Temperature Monitoring System

The VTMS is ideal for continuous, remote monitoring of critically-controlled products, such as with temperature sensitive vaccines or pharmaceuticals in refrigerators, freezers and coolers. This complete vaccine monitoring system provides users with the tools needed to comply with specific storage and handling instructions for medical observations and control mandated by the CDC.
The VTMS consists of an NIST traceable RFTCTemp2000A data logger equipped with a thermocouple and glycol bottle, to ensure accuracy requirements are met. The RFTCTemp2000A data logger features an LCD screen to provide quick visual verifications of min, max, average and current temperature readings and is equipped with an audible, as well as an LED alarm indicator to notify users when the temperature is above or below the safe range. With the RFTCTemp2000As two-way wireless technology, alerts can be sent to the user or other personnel via e-mail or text message, which allows for immediate response to affirm that the goods are not compromised.
The CDC Guidelines for Storage and Temperature Monitoring of Refrigerated Vaccines specify an accuracy requirement of +/- 0.5°C. The guideline also states that a glycol-encased detachable probe should be used alongside a digital data logger, to prevent false alarms by providing temperature buffered readings.
