The Cyr Family Charitable Fund Provides Anti-Bullying for Youth
Boerne, TX (PRWEB) July 30, 2013 -- The Orthopaedic and Spine Institute will be the presenting sponsor of Walls Next Level Fitness Youth Olympics, put on by retired NFL player Lenny Walls. This is an exciting event being held on July 13 and 14 from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. at Boerne High School. The event will promote the importance of health, fitness and wellness to today’s youth through friendly competition.
At this special two day fitness camp, Lenny Walls and other current and retired NFL players will be working with the campers, demonstrating health education; George Hill with the Indiana Pacers, Brandon Browner with the Seattle Seahawks, Dante Hall, former NFL Pro Bowler, and Quinten Demps with the Houston Texans. The Cyr Family Charitable Fund will be sponsoring Ryron Gracie, son of UFC originator Rorion Gracie and grandson of legendary Brazilian jiujitsu grandmaster Helio Gracie, who will be there teaching a antibullying/self defense jiujitsu workshop to the camp participants. Also, Dr. Ritchie and Dr. Liu of the Children’s Orthopaedic and Spine Center will be there providing information on how to take care of injuries.
The camp will include obstacle course zones where each child will be be given the opportunity to work on speed, agility and quickness; keeping the campers active while developing an appreciation for human movement. This is a fun opportunity for parents to watch their children compete with the benefit of knowing that their children are learning about and implementing a healthy lifestyle.
Lenny Walls wants to spread his mission of health and fitness to every child he can and is thrilled to have the opportunity to reach out to the San Antonio community. There will also be various interactive wellness stations which will educate today’s youth on proper diet, nutrition and physical fitness. In addition, there will be a nonprofit zone which will teach our youth the impact of giving back and the effect they can have on others. Half of the proceeds from the camp will be given to St. Jude's Children’s Ranch and Haven for Hope. Give your child the chance to be a part of something great and learn the importance of giving back to others.
