'Worldwide Advance' Announces Former Imprisoned Vietnamese Pastor to Meet with President Obama
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) July 24, 2013 -- Known as the "Father of the Underground Church," Rev. Dinh Thien Tu will accompany Vietnamese President Truong Tan Sang to a historic meeting this week with President Obama at the White House to discuss religious freedom in the communist nation of Vietnam. Rev. Tu will remain in the United States and is available for speaking, preaching, or meetings with those interested in his work in Vietnam.
The Presidents reportedly will discuss strides that Vietnam has made in allowing churches to worship and gather freely. Rev. Tu founded the largest church of its kind in Vietnam, only to be imprisoned for over 2 years in 1991 for religious activities. Once released, Rev. Tu went on to form The Christian Fellowship Church, a denomination that now includes over 1,200 churches. Vietnam has now officially recognized The Christian Fellowship Church, allowing them to operate freely.
Long time co-worker of Rev. Tu, Dr. David Hunt has outlined Rev. Tu's historic story in a recent blog post, which is listed below. Dr. Hunt and WorldWide Advance are coordinating Rev. Tu's schedule after the D.C. meetings.
Below is Dr. Hunt's recent blog post on Rev. Tu which details his remarkable story.
