Ernst & Young LLP Expands Its Fast-Growing Seattle Practice
SEATTLE, Wash. (PRWEB) July 25, 2013 -- Ernst & Young LLP recently announced the addition of experienced executives Sue Borgman, Doug Sirotta and Matthew Stover to its Seattle practice, as well as the leadership promotions of Oren Lang-Furr, Matthew Rundorff, Chad Miller, Catherine Banks and Scott Gelber, professionals based in its Seattle office.

Sue Borgman, principal, joins Ernst & Young LLP’s Seattle office from the firm’s San Jose office. Borgman brings more than 20 years of both transactions and assurance experience to the Pacific Northwest, having served as a strategic advisor to companies in the software, telecommunications, semiconductor, hardware, consumer products, hospitality and oil & gas sectors. She leads teams in providing due diligence, valuation, transaction integration, SEC-filing and deal-structuring services supporting mergers, acquisitions, spin-offs, divestitures and initial public offerings. Borgman earned her bachelor’s degree in Commerce and a postgraduate diploma in Accounting from the University of Cape Town in South Africa. She is a chartered accountant.
Doug Sirotta, partner, joins Ernst & Young LLP’s Seattle Tax practice from a regional accounting firm, where he managed its San Jose, San Francisco and Los Angeles offices and served as the national leader for tax. In Sirotta’s 25-year career, he has advised multinational corporations and entrepreneurial businesses on domestic and international tax issues, including corporate structuring, tax reporting, compliance, strategic tax planning, ASC 740 (FAS 109) and mergers and acquisitions. Sirotta earned his bachelor’s degree in Accounting with a minor in Economics from California State University, Northridge, and his master’s degree in Taxation from Golden Gate University. He is a certified public accountant licensed to practice in Washington and California and a member of the American Institute of CPAs.
Matthew Stover, partner, rejoins Ernst & Young LLP’s Seattle Assurance practice from eBay Inc., where he spent the last year as the company's director of accounting. Stover brings 15 years of diverse auditing and management experience, focusing on international and SEC technical accounting and reporting matters. He has worked with companies in a variety of industries, including technology, manufacturing, timber and retail. Stover earned his bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Michigan. He is a certified public accountant licensed to practice in Washington, a certified management accountant and a member of the American Institute of CPAs.
Oren Lang-Furr was promoted to partner from senior manager. Lang-Furr is a member of Ernst & Young LLP’s Assurance practice where he serves clients in a variety of sectors with a focus on technology and life sciences. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a master’s degree in Accounting from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Lang-Furr is a certified public accountant licensed to practice in Washington and North Carolina, and a member of the Washington Society of CPAs and the American Institute of CPAs. He also serves on the boards of WINGS – the Washington Medical Technology Angel Network, Washington Clean Technology Alliance and Community Psychiatric Clinic of Washington.
Matthew Rundorff was promoted to partner from senior manager. Rundorff is a member of Ernst & Young LLP’s Tax practice where he provides tax services to companies in a variety of industries including technology, consumer products and manufacturing. He received a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Washington. Rundorff is a certified public accountant licensed to practice in Washington and a member of the American Institute of CPAs. He volunteers in many non-profit youth athletic organizations in Snohomish County.
Chad Miller was promoted to partner from senior manager. Miller is a member of Ernst & Young LLP’s Assurance practice where he serves clients in a number of sectors with an emphasis on financial services. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Washington. Miller is a certified public accountant licensed to practice in Washington and a member of the American Institute of CPAs. He is also a member of the University of Washington’s Bothell Business School Advisory Board and president of the Pacific Northwest Chapter of the Insurance Accounting and Systems Association.
Catherine Banks was promoted to director from associate director. Banks is a member of Ernst & Young LLP’s Core Business Services where she focuses on the development of resources and education for faculty on leading-edge issues impacting the accounting profession. She is the chair of the Accounting Advisory Board at Seattle University and vice chair of the Accounting Career Awareness Program in Seattle. Banks received a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Illinois. She is a certified public accountant licensed to practice in Washington and a member of the American Institute of CPAs.
Scott Gelber was promoted to principal from senior manager. Gelber is a member of Ernst & Young LLP’s Advisory practice where he advises clients on IT and information security operations. He is currently on overseas assignment with the EY member firm in the United Kingdom to develop and build a Center of Excellence for Information Security. Gelber earned a bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the University of Alaska, Fairbanks. He is a certified information systems security professional lead instructor, certified information systems auditor, certified information systems security manager, certified project management professional and is certified in the governance of enterprise information technology.
