Kids II Impacts Thousands of Children and Families Through the Power of Giving Back
Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) July 24, 2013 -- For the third year, Kids II has partnered with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta for the Strong Legs Run as the headlining sponsor, taking place November 2, 2013. Registration is currently open for this family-friendly 5k, 10k (Peachtree Road Race qualifier), 2k Fun Run, Stroller Roll and Mascot Trot. Proceeds from the 2013 Kids II Strong Legs Run will benefit Children’s, which enhances the lives of children through excellence in patient care, research and education.
Additionally, Kids II will be a Gold sponsor for the Camp Twin Lakes Spin for Kids bike race October 19-20, 2013. Last year, Kids II represented one of the largest teams with nearly 50 Kids II employees and friends who not only participated in the ride but also raised additional funds outside of its Silver sponsorship. As a Gold sponsor this year, its set to have an even larger presence to support Camp Twin Lakes and its mission to send deserving children to camp.
“We understand the importance in making a difference in the lives of children and their families, and seek to secure partnerships with non-profit organizations that directly impact the community,” said Miles Bohannan, VP of Marketing Communications and co-founder of the Kids II Foundation. “Our employees across all Kids II offices are passionate about engaging with the community and helping those in need. It’s amazing to see how many children and families we can truly impact with our partnerships and employee dedication to the community—which is why we established the Foundation.”
Kids II’s commitment to these organizations doesn’t stop at sponsoring major annual events; it extends year-round. In addition to these events and further strengthening its partnerships, Kids II and its employees host quarterly Children’s Zone parties allowing employees to offer patients and their families the opportunity to have a great time without leaving the hospital, volunteer days at Camp Twin Lakes and gives dozens of its products to the children of both.
The Kids II Foundation, established in 2006 by Kids II employees, has focused on increasing local outreach to assist children and their families in the communities in which employees work and live. The Kids II Foundation provides numerous opportunities for employees to volunteer and collectively contribute more than 2,500 hours of service each year.
Kids II has additional ways to give back by working closely with several other organizations on a local and nationwide level including Empty Stocking Fund, Bend Your Knees, the Toys R Us Children’s Fund and its signature Pink Power Mom Program supporting mothers who have survived breast cancer and are making a difference in their communities. The Pink Power Mom Program, thriving from a think globally, act locally concept to continue impacting deserving mothers, is wrapping up its annual nominations and will select an additional eight women to join the current 48 Pink Power Moms throughout the U.S. this October.
As a global leader in baby and infant products, Kids II also seeks opportunities to reach out to the community worldwide. Most recently, Kids II donated boxes of toys and gear to Un Kilo de Ayuda – an organization that focuses on children from newborns to 5 years old, in Acambay, Mexico. Kids II anticipates the global outreach to spread across all of the Kids II global offices within the next several years.
