Capacity Business Consulting President Eric Egeland Wins Chamber Membership Drive and Throws First Pitch at Dutchess Stadium
Fishkill, NY (PRWEB) July 25, 2013 -- Eric Egeland, CEO of Capacity Consulting, Inc., participated in the Orange County Chamber of Commerce membership drive this past spring. He did well last year but got edged out by veteran member Edison Guzman of A&E Advertising and Web Design.
Eric, Edison, and a few other members of the chamber volunteer their time each year to try and help local area businesses understand the value of joining the Orange County Chamber. The rules are simple: he who helps the most new businesses join, wins.
"We at Capacity feel very strongly about the value of an Orange County Chamber membership to local businesses. There are many benefits, but the bottom line is the more members there are, the more businesses we meet and have a chance of forming a relationship with. This is the core value of any chamber and can grow any type of business; wholesale, retail, B2B, B2C, restaurants, etc.," says Egeland.
Guzman adds, "Since networking is one of the most powerful tools at the Chamber, getting the most members to join helps everyone. Whether Eric wins at getting the most members, or I win, it's irrelevant because everyone who joins the Chamber is the real winner."
This year Eric had a score to settle and went about beating Edison by a couple members. "It wasn’t easy and frankly I think he let me win," smiles Eric.
Edison denies any sandbagging and promises to reclaim the number one spot next year. You get the strong feeling that both men do it mainly to help the county thrive, but neither minds the attention they get.
Speaking of attention, the Chamber always awards a prize to the best recruiter and this year’s grand prize was catered box seats for six donated by the Dutchess Stadium. As part of the package, Eric got to throw the first pitch at the Hudson Valley Renegades vs. Jamestown Jammers game on Thursday, July 11, 2013. The package was presented by Rob Bell, Sales Executive for the Hudson Valley Renegades, at the Orange Chamber membership breakfast last month.
