EHL Ingredients Moves to Sage 200 with Datel to Enhance Operations
Warrington, Cheshire (PRWEB UK) 24 July 2013 -- EHL Ingredients has invested in a full software system upgrade to Sage 200 with Sage 200 Business Partner of the Year Datel. The business imports and supplies international food ingredients to the UK food manufacturing sector and worked with Datel to provide and implement the new Sage 200 package.
EHL Ingredients has experienced rapid expansion in the last two years and found that their existing Sage 50 solution and separate stock and finance control system did not meet their business needs any longer. The new system fits perfectly with the current size of the business and allows for further growth.
The Sage 200 solution has been implemented across the 20,000 square foot factory floor and head office and allows for high levels of traceability, batch number recording, stock coding and location, pricing and sales trends, as well as accurate and detailed logging of stock coming in and out of the warehouse.
The system also includes Sage 200 CRM, a customer relationship management software to enhance client relations and to allow the sales team to access and monitor previous orders quickly and easily. It will also support the financial side of the business with a fully integrated finance, purchase order and invoicing system in place.
The Stockport-based company supplies around 300 food ingredients and boasts a 200-strong organic range as well as over 50 custom blends. EHL Ingredients’ products are sold into the food manufacturing sector and used in end products, such as breads and bakery items, ready meals, healthy snacks and soups and sauces. They are also sold to speciality food shops, delis and organic retailers across the UK.
Financial Director, Naseem Ul-Haq, says: “Our previous systems were working well but this new technology will enhance our traceability, efficiency, productivity, customer service and overall operations of the business. The significant investment (£40,000) is a huge move for us but a new, modern, reliable system was required to meet the changing needs of the business. Traceability was the most crucial element for us as many of our customers operate in the retail sector with strict requirements on highly detailed, full line traceability. We can now support their needs and meet the demands of their rigorous audits by tracing and recording exactly where our ingredients have come from, how long they are stored for, where they are sent to and other highly detailed information.
“We are planning for further growth and expansion and we need to be able to offer a consistently reliable service to our customers, record and retrieve useful data quickly and easily, and enhance efficiency where possible as the business becomes busier.
“The new Sage 200 system will now be the hub of the business and all our operations will be conducted via the software. As our business grows, the system will stay with us and serve our needs without the need for any major updates or changes.
