The National Council for Hypnotherapy Responds to New Research about Exercise and Rewards
(PRWEB UK) 29 July 2013 -- According to an article published on Reuters, if you are taking regular exercise but failing to lose weight, you may be rewarding yourself with too big a reward for too little exercise. Research has found those who worked hard at a range of exercises including walking, running or pumping iron, also tended to reward themselves with high calorie foods. American Council on Exercise spokesperson Jonathan Ross said:
"People tend to overestimate the amount of physical activity they get. They work out a little bit and treat themselves a lot."
Whilst diet and exercise are fundamental in losing weight, it is also possible to use complementary therapies to lose weight. One type of complementary therapy is hypnotherapy. Hypnotherapy can be used to help the client think they have a smaller stomach – known as hypno-band- or to give determination and willpower to those dieting. The National Council for Hypnotherapy connects members of the general public with professional, skilled hypnotists throughout the UK who are qualified to help with a wide range of issues such as stopping smoking, weight loss and anxiety. A spokesperson from the company said:
"Exercise and dieting requires willpower and determination and whilst humans work well on a reward type scheme it is also necessary to remember that these should be in relation to the amount of exercise taken and calories burnt."
The National Council for Hypnotherapy continues to highlight the various benefits of using hypnotherapy.
