Erin Reel Joins WriteLife as Senior Editor & In-House Agent
Omaha, NE (PRWEB) July 24, 2013 -- WriteLife, LLC, an independent publishing company headquartered in Omaha, NE, today announced the appointment of Erin Reel as Senior Editor and In-House Agent. Reel will oversee the selection and development of titles, provide platform coaching to authors and develop relationships with freelance editors, film agents, foreign rights agents and producers.
“It’s a very exciting time in publishing and I’m thrilled to be a part of WriteLife’s evolution and growth. When WriteLife offered me the opportunity to put my editorial, coaching and agenting expertise to work, I knew it was the perfect next step for me,” said Reel.
Reel comes to WriteLife with over a decade of experience helping writers shape their work for professional publication. Reel began her career as a Los Angeles based literary agent working the high profile book-to-film market and later as head of her own boutique literary agency where she successfully sold her authors’ work to major, mid-sized and independent publishers in the United States. In addition, she contributed to “Making the Perfect Pitch: How to Catch a Literary Agent’s Eye” (Watson - Guptill, 2004) and “Author 101: Bestselling Secrets from Top Agents” (Adams Media, 2005).
Prior to Reel joining WriteLife, Reel was an independent editorial consultant and writer’s coach. As host of the blog, “The Lit Coach’s Guide to The Writer’s Life,” Reel offered counsel, tips and perspective not only on how to become published but on how writers can best prepare themselves and their work for the business demands of literary agents, the publishing world, and the writer’s life in general. Bestselling and award-winning authors, agents and other industry professionals regularly contributed to TLCG. Erin is a frequent contributor to the critically acclaimed literary website, LitReactor.com as well as a co-creator and co-contributor to “The Writer’s Kitchen” on Rainn Wilson’s SoulPancake.com.
“We are thrilled to have Erin join our team,” said WriteLife Founder and Managing Director, Cindy Grady. “Her experience and expertise as an agent and writing coach will help take WriteLife’s authors to the next level for success in building audiences and readership. She’s truly a pleasure to work with and completely embraces the collaborative model that makes WriteLife stand out from other independent publishers. What an asset for both WriteLife and all of our authors.”
