Athletic Trainers' Society of New Jersey Wins National Athletic Trainer's Association Great Impact Public Relations Award
Wayne, NJ (PRWEB) July 25, 2013 -- The Athletic Trainers’ Society of New Jersey (ATSNJ) was honored at the 2013 National Athletic Trainers’ Association Annual Conference and Clinical Symposia by receiving the 2013 NATA “Greatest State Impact” Public Relations Award. This is the third consecutive year the ATSNJ has had this distinct honor. The award is given to the effort that the National Athletic Trainers' Association Public Relations Committee feels provides the greatest overall impact in promoting the profession of athletic training and sports safety during the month of March (National Athletic Training Month). The contest is open to any National Athletic Trainers' Association member and efforts this year were nothing short of excellent. The ATSNJ had several initiatives during the month of March and worked diligently to promote the field of athletic training. The theme for this year’s NATM was “Every Body Needs an Athletic Trainer”.
The public relations initiatives for the ATSNJ included a Tip Of the Day section of the ATSNJ website aimed at parents and student-athletes, a Facebook and Twitter campaign promoting the profession of athletic training, and Public Service Announcements that were played on multiple radio stations. Anchoring the ATSNJ effort was two large-scale initiatives: one that included advertising the ATSNJ and promoting the athletic training profession by utilizing electronic signage at the two busiest New Jersey Transit stations (Newark – Penn Station and Trenton Station) and the other that included radio interviews by NATA District 2 Public Information Director and ATSNJ Hall of Fame Member Michael Prybicien and NATA President Jim Thornton on Seton Hall University’s “The Health Exchange Radio Show”.
"The past 4 years the ATSNJ has set the standard of public relations efforts throughout the country". Said Prybicien. “The National Athletic Trainers' Association 2013 Public Relations Greatest Impact Award once again shows that the ATSNJ is 100% committed to promoting the profession of athletic training and sports safety to the entire community."
Accepting the award on behalf of the ATSNJ at the NATA Conference in Las Vegas was ATSNJ Public Relations Chairman Allan Parsells. NATA District 2 Public Information Director Michael Prybicien presented Parsells with the award.
“Accepting this award on behalf of the ATSNJ is a tremendous honor.” Parsells said. “I am glad that I have been given the opportunity to give back to my profession by serving as PR Chairman for the ATSNJ. The membership and leaders of the ATSNJ are constantly striving for excellence and I am confident the ATSNJ will continue to be a leader in the promotion of the athletic training profession at the highest level for years to come.”
The ATSNJ is proud of its efforts and will continue to promote athletic training, not just within New Jersey, but on a national level as well. The ATSNJ made a conscious effort to promote the NATA National Athletic Training Month slogan of “Every Body Needs an Athletic Trainer,” by molding content to all ages as well as posting the information in a variety of locations.
