Active US Soldier D’Alan Ramey Look Toward Becoming Successful in Civilian Life with the Sarder Scholarship
New York, NY (PRWEB) July 26, 2013 -- NetCom Learning announces the winner of the April 2013 Sarder Scholarship. D’Alan Ramey who is currently serving in the U.S. Army is the Sarder scholarship winner for April. The Sarder Scholarship is awarded on a monthly basis to deserving applicants who are looking to pursue a career in information technology and related fields. The $2,500 scholarship can be used toward live online classes or any regular classroom course at NetCom Learning. The scholarship is named for NetCom Learning’s co-founder and creator of the scholarship, Russell Sarder, who is passionately interested in the promotion of education and lifelong learning.
“D’Alan Ramey has served his country in the military and is now looking forward to entering the lucrative field of information technology as a civilian. We are honored to be able to start him on his journey to success,” said Russell Sarder, CEO of NetCom Learning.
D’Alan Ramey is still in active service in the United States Army but is looking forward to transitioning to the civilian workforce and pursuing his interest in IT. He comes from a small town in Florence, Colorado where he learned the importance of hard work, dedication and perseverance. He has found the Army to be a good place to learn and focus on his skills and looks forward to continuing his education after he has fulfilled his military obligation. Ramey’s goals are to acquire the CISSP and the CASP certifications. He plans to start with the CEH Boot Camp to add to his current CCENT, Network+ and Security+ certifications. He states that he is ready to buckle down and study and will not try to receive just a minimum passing score as he possesses the drive and the conviction to excel.
Learning Movement
The Learning Movement and NetCom Learning's commitment to promote lifelong learning originates with Russell Sarder, the company's CEO and benefactor of the Sarder Scholarship. His passion for learning dominates his life and is at the center of his career as CEO. He is from Bangladesh, one of the poorest countries in the world, yet where all parents expect their children to excel in school. His love of learning was instilled in him at a young age. When he arrived in the United States, he had little more than a few books and a couple of suitcases. He stayed committed to his education, and has been able to create growing multimillion dollar business where he gets to pass on his love of learning to others. Another integral part of the learning movement is a series of short videos called "Learning Is..." where nearly a hundred people has shared what has inspired them in their lives, what learning has means to them and why the concept of lifelong learning is so important to individuals and to the future of our world. Some of the interviewees include: Dan Hoffman, former CEO of M5 Networks, Inc.; Russell Stevens, former partner of SS+K which developed the Livestrong Campaign and Obama's 2008 advertising strategies; co-author of best-selling "Green to Gold", Andrew Winston; Kaplan College former President, Bill Rosenthal; former CLO of Merrill Lynch, Roseanna DeMaria, author of "BrandingPays", Karen Kang; and Susan Davis CEO of BRAC USA.
The Sarder Scholarship is open to individuals of any background or skill level and can be used for any of the IT industry courses NetCom Learning provides.
