Acuity Management Solutions Brings Greater Productivity and Continued Focus on Security
Richmond, Virginia (PRWEB) July 26, 2013 -- Acuity Management Solutions (“Acuity”) announces that it has expanded its technology team and relocated its hosting facilities in its continued effort to ensure quality sites and optimal security standards for its clients.
In the past six months, Acuity invested significantly in its technology team. Troy Burns, Acuity’s new CTO, joined the company in February of this year and brings 20 years of experience in product strategy, development and delivery of applications, network infrastructure and compliance initiatives. Since his hire, Troy has added additional quality assurance engineers, a director of software development and additional senior software engineers to the team.
Troy spearheaded our annual security assessment, which Acuity conducts every year, using an industry leading third party vendor. While these assessments are not required, Acuity believes they are important in ensuring compliance with industry standards, and in demonstrating to our clients our continued dedication to security.
In a further investment in infrastructure, Acuity moved its primary hosting facility from the Washington DC area to a new QTS facility in Richmond, VA. QTS is an SSAE 16 II certified, state-of-the-art data center that provides highly secure infrastructures for business applications. QTS also provides flexibility and scalability, which helps support the rapidly evolving infrastructure demand of web applications, such as what is needed for Acuity’s client sites.
Acuity also relocated its backup colocation facility to ViaWest, in Las Vegas, Nevada. ViaWest is also SSAE 16 II certified, and has added a Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) report for physical controls.
“In an effort to continue improvement of our technology, we have upgraded our web and database servers, improved server load balancing capabilities, updated hardware infrastructure to facilitate next generation platforms, and upgraded our software applications to improve performance. We have added additional staging environments to further test production code releases and to provide an optimal place for our clients to perform UAT (User Acceptance Testing),” indicates Troy Burns, CTO. “We plan to continue additional infrastructure upgrades over the next several months, as well as new product functionality, improved reporting, and new access features to enhance the user experience on our sites.”
Data security is listed as the number one concern of clients, and Acuity strives to stay at the forefront of ensuring our systems have the most up-to-date security standards and protocols.
