eTalentShowcase Announces Official Sponsorship of the Asbury Park Comedy Fest
asbury Park, NJ (PRWEB) July 29, 2013 -- Nick Clemons and his NCB Productions are in the final stages of planning for the 2nd annual Asbury Park Comedy Fest set to kick off on Friday, August 23, 2013. The event spans three days with a kick-off party on August 23, the main event comedy show on Saturday, August 24 and a celebrity golf outing on Monday, August 26. Clemons is the son of legendary tenor saxophone player and member of Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band, Clarence Clemons and he created this event to bring great comedy and music to the people of Asbury Park, as well as give back to the community.
"eTalentShowcase is thrilled to be involved with this amazing event", says Edward Olimpio, Vice President of Marketing for the site. “To be affiliated with such incredible talent, and an amazing team of organizers, reflects well on our company."
The main comedy show will take place on Saturday, August 24 at the historic Paramount Theater at 1300 Ocean Drive and will be hosted by New Jersey’s “Bad Boy of Comedy” Mike Marino. Featured performers include Hal Sparks of Showtime’s “Queer As Folk” and E’s “Talk Soup,” Sunda Croonquist, Purnell Holloway and a few special guests. The Paramount Theatre seats 1600 people and according to Clemons, he expects that this year’s show will sell out. The show begins at 8:00 PM and tickets are currently available via Ticketmaster.
The final event of the weekend will be the Asbury Park Comedy Fest Celebrity Golf Outing held at the Jumping Brook Country Club at 210 Jumping Brook Road in Neptune, New Jersey. Clemons added this event to the program this year to give participants in the Comedy Fest a little something extra. The golf outing will be followed by an awards dinner hosted by comedian Ryan Maher.
Last August the first Asbury Park Comedy Festival was also held at the historic Paramount Theatre. This very successful event included the talents of Margaret Cho, Jim Florentine, Mike Marino, and Paul Venier. The evening was hosted by 'Sopranos' Star Vincent Pastore. eTalentShowcase was also an official sponsor last year because of the great synergy between the event and eTalentShowcase web site. The social media site is the premier destination for comedians to promote their talents and connect with entertainment industry professionals.
The Asbury Park boardwalk has seen major changes in recent years and a younger demographic moved in and residential and retail development sprang up throughout the area. The time was right for an event like the Comedy Fest, and Clemons seems to have hit at just the right time. The weekend’s festivities will kick off on Friday, August 23 at The Wonder Bar at 1213 Ocean Avenue. This kick-off party will be hosted by comedian Craig Loydgen from the Artie Lange Show and Sirius XM and will feature live music and an adult comedy show. Clemons chose this venue and decided to include music in the weekend event schedule to give him and his musician friends a chance to perform together and his band will take part in the late night jam. Doors open at 7:30 PM.
