Complimentary Chronic Pain Awareness Event in September is Open to the Public, Hosted by Arizona Pain Specialists, the Premier Pain Center in the Phoenix Area
Scottsdale, Arizona (PRWEB) July 26, 2013 -- September is Chronic Pain Awareness Month — a time to work together in raising awareness about the effects chronic pain has on those who suffer from it. In honor of Chronic Pain Awareness Month, Arizona Pain Specialists (arizonapain.com), the premier pain center in Phoenix, Ariz., will be hosting a free “Chronic Pain Awareness” expo that will be open to the public.
This event will take place at the Desert Ridge Marriott, (7575 E. Princess Drive, Scottsdale, AZ) on Saturday, Sept. 7. The event will go from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and will be geared toward patients as well as caregivers who want to learn more about various ways to better manage pain and overall health.
The events will highlight a variety of chronic pain topics like alternative therapies, interventional treatments, mental health, cutting-edge studies and much more. Various health and wellness vendors will provide attendees with some great information regarding medication management, nutrition, rehabilitation and free product samples. Representatives from local support groups will also be available for patients and caregivers to meet and talk with.
“We understand that chronic pain can be debilitating, emotionally draining, and take a major toll on many aspects of one’s life,” says Kristen Wesley, public relations coordinator at Arizona Pain Specialists. “We want those who suffer from chronic pain in the Phoenix area to know that they are not alone, there are many specialists in the area that want to help you get back to living your life, and that there is an array of treatment options besides that of just pain pills.”
According to the American Academy of Pain Medicine, more than 100 million Americans in the U.S. suffer from chronic pain. For chronic pain patients, it can often be difficult to know where to start in seeking help. Through these free outreach events, Arizona Pain Specialists hopes to provide educational resources for people, so that they can begin finding the help they need right here in their own community.
“Part of our obligation to our local communities is to support patient education and awareness programs,” says Arizona Pain Specialists CEO Joe Carlon. “We are proud to be opening our doors to the Phoenix community and offering patients and their families an opportunity to learn about the vast resources available to help those who suffer from chronic pain.”
If you plan to attend one of these events, please RSVP to BrookeC(at)ArizonaPain(dot)com with your name and how many people you will be bringing. For more information, click on the following link: http://arizonapain.com/chronic-pain-awareness-event-expo/
