Indiana Teens Involved in a Parasailing Accident Return to Indiana
(PRWEB) July 29, 2013 -- After an accident occurring on July 1st, both the teen victims have returned to their home state. They have not been released to return home yet. Both girls continue their recovery process and hope to return home soon.
Sidney Good of Roanoke, Indiana and Alexis Fairchild of Huntington, Indiana were involved in a parasailing accident on July 1, 2013. A rope connecting them to the boat snapped leading to the strong winds slamming them into a nearby condominium building and a parked car according to the Miami Herald (7.15.13). Fairchild suffered broken bones in her spine, a brain injury and a skull fracture. She was moved to an Indianapolis rehabilitation hospital about a week ago.
After more evaluations, Good is likely to face more surgeries. She is able to walk a short distance, sit up and eat, currently. Her memories of the horrific accident are beginning to come back, as well. Good was released from a Panama City Hospital and moved to an Indianapolis facility on Sunday, July 14, 2013 as stated in the Miami Herald article.
According to the Miami Herald, the girls are not at the same Indianapolis facility since Sidney Good isn't ready for the rehabilitation hospital yet. However, the families hope to get them together sometime in the near future.
According to Michael Steigner of Steinger, Iscoe & Greene, the accident could lead to a lawsuit against the parasailing company. "The severity of the injuries will likely lead to a lawsuit seeking damages for now and the future," said Steinger.
"Victims suffering injuries due to the possible negligence of another have every right to seek compensation for their injuries," stated Steinger. "Since this accident resulted in many serious injuries, there's likely to be a lawsuit filed by the victims."
