Denis Boisclair was drafted by the Montreal Concordes of the CFL in 1985. As a kicker, Boisclair was a three-year starter with Illinois College of the NCAA. In 1985, he spent some time in Reno, Nevada practicing with the kicker Ray Pelfrey. From November 2001 to November 2010, Boisclair was the Université de Montréal kicking coach.
Today, Boisclair is counseling Carabins kickers along with the possibility to coach the other specialists from other CIS teams.
Kickers such as the (CFL) Saskatchewan Riders kicker Christopher Milo, Jean-Luc Lamarche, Michael Shousha and Pierre-Paul Gélinas established their name in the CIS. In 2009, Alexandre Sy participated as the starting kicker/punter for his country in the Europe Championship, helping Team France to succeed.
In 2007, Boisclair created his kicking school to help young athletes enjoy kicking and to participate successfully in a football game. Some of the students were Maxime Boudreau and Félix Faubert-Lussier.
Kicking coach and NCS founder Michael Husted says he is very happy to have a coach like Denis Boisclair as part of the NCS team.
“NCS Associates are some of the best kicking coaches in the country and beyond,” says Husted. “NCS coaches provide the highest quality instruction to high school kicking specialists around the country, and Denis Boisclair is an excellent kicking coach. I’m looking forward to working with him in 2013 on all his NCS events.”
Husted says great coaching, and the NCS Kicking Index (KIX) Player Rating System, are helping NCS continue to expand each year.
"2012 shaped up to be the best year yet for the National Camp Series,” says Husted. “Using our Kicking IndeX (KIX) Player Rating System, we are positioned extremely well in 2013 to leverage analytics to showcase our athletes and to provide ‘objective high school kicking specialist’s statistics' to college and university coaches.”
Husted says that by utilizing its Kicking IndeX (KIX) Player Rating System, NCS provides an objective evaluation platform for student-athletes who want to showcase their capabilities to colleges and universities for recruiting purposes.
By sorting through over six years of historical event data, the KIX system determines a kicker’s rankings by cross-referencing player data to determine how the athletes stack up against others, both presently and historically.
"The NCS levels the playing field for those who don't want to get caught up in all of the 'politics' that occurs in the kicking industry,” says Husted. “If you can kick, punt or snap, the NCS KIX system will let a young kicking specialist’s skills speak for themselves. No excuses. No explanations."
Husted adds the NCS is not just about player rankings, but quality coaching as well.
