Pre-Marital Agreement Will Affect Love and the Marriage?
Los Angles, California (PRWEB) July 29, 2013 -- All over the world, there is the idea that there are two ways to get money:
1. It can be earned
2. Marry into it
This philosophy may have worked 100 years ago when women had fewer choices about career and family. But these days, there is no good reason why anyone should just place all their money at risk. Not even for love.
It is often said that if two people truly love each other, then a pre-nup is not needed. Love theoretically makes it OK to risk it all. Also, many argue that a pre-nup calls into question the level of devotion a couple has for each other. This argument is flawed. The fact is that marriage usually is a financial and business arrangement. Two people are agreeing to “go into business” with life decisions and family. Marriage has always been this. It is a way to create a stable society, to keep men closer to their children, and to offer a good environment for child-rearing. Love and marriage are a business, and do not let anyone convince you otherwise.
There is no good reason why anyone should be asked to risk or simply give away a large percentage of their money, just because of a 10 minute ceremony that happened 10 years ago. If two people love each other, then they respect what the other person has done before they met. True love means love of people, not money. And if your marriage is a business agreement, all the more reason for a pre-nup.
