Children’s Obesity Fund Endorses Inaugural Biggest Loser RunWalk Chicago 5K/15K and 1 Mile Kid’s Fun Run
Chicago, Illinois (PRWEB) July 29, 2013 -- Thousands of runners and walkers will lace up their shoes on August 4th 2013 for the Inaugural Biggest Loser RunWalk Chicago 5K/15K and 1 Mile Kid’s Fun Run. National studies show running for exercise lowers cholesterol, blood pressure and reduces the risk of diabetes,” says Dr. Michael Omidi. The Children’s Obesity Fund endorses the Biggest Loser RunWalk series for these important reasons. Running also improves your mood and inspires healthy eating habits.
Race start time for the event is 8 a.m. rain or shine, and participants will start and finish at Soldier Field. At the starting line will be Dolvett Quince, fitness trainer on NBC’s “The Biggest Loser” and a whole host of Biggest Loser alumni. Known for his ‘no excuses’ training style, Quince will be motivating and pushing participants during the race. The flat course runs south along the lakefront trail giving participants a scenic view. This race is chip-timed for participants tracking personal goals with special awards given to the top runners and walkers.
The Children’s Obesity Fund wants you to bring the kids for their very own 1 Mile Fun Run (ages 4-12) hosted by Kids Fit Foundation. All children will receive a t-shirt and finisher's medal. Kids Fit programs and events are designed to be a day for kids to reach their goals and to celebrate their healthy lifestyle achievements with their family and friends. We support Kids Fit Foundation in their goal to encourage all families to get their children active at a young age.
After the race, participants, family and friends can celebrate and relax at the post-race concert featuring former “The Biggest Loser” contestant and Nashville recording artist, Dan Evans. Many of you know Dan and Jackie Evans as Season 5 featured contestants on the hit TV reality show The Biggest Loser. Since losing a combined 225 pounds, Dan and Jackie have been canvassing the country and keeping the weight off through nutrition and running. In 2011, Dan and Jackie ran over 20 half marathons while promoting the benefits of exercise and healthy eating habits. Along the way, they have shared their stories with thousands with the hope of inspiring others to embrace a healthier lifestyle. As the National Spokespeople for The Biggest Loser RunWalk, they continue to share their story and challenge all Americans to get fit and stay healthy.

The goal of the non-profit charity is to help people fully understand the obesity issue and its dire impacts on individuals and society as a whole -- and to use that knowledge to encourage children to grow up strong and healthy. Children’s Obesity Fund partners with other organizations to educate and support parents, educators and others so that we can all work together to raise healthy, active, social, and happy children. While the organization does not accept donations, it does encourage direct contributions of money and talents to the associations featured on our website. Children’s Obesity Fund is on Facebook as well as Google+, Twitter, and Pinterest.
