The Ranch is a safe place for our guests to detoxify with assurance that they’ll return to complete treatment with us.
Nunnelly, TN (PRWEB) July 30, 2013
Collaboration is a core principle of addiction and mental health treatment at The Ranch rehabilitation center in Tennessee. The Ranch’s case management approach is highly regarded by local treatment providers, including Discovery Place, a nonprofit men’s drug and alcohol rehabilitation center outside Nashville, Tenn., which partners with The Ranch to provide its guests with medical detoxification services at Piney Lodge.
“We chose The Ranch because it is a first-rate facility with a great staff that really cares about guests the same way we do,” said Jeff Waters, Admissions Manager at Discovery Place. “Once our guests are stabilized and medically cleared, they return to us for long-term treatment.”
At Piney Lodge, The Ranch’s state-of-the-art detox, stabilization and assessment center, clients have a safe, home-like setting to detox and begin programming to learn about and recover from addiction. Following detox, they can transfer to another program, or they can continue on with treatment at The Ranch.
For Shawn Baker, CEO and President of Freeman Recovery Center, LLC, an intensive therapeutic residential program for men in Dickson, Tenn., the relationship with The Ranch boils down to trust.
“The Ranch is a safe place for our guests to detoxify with assurance that they’ll return to complete treatment with us,” said Baker. “It’s nice having people we can work with who are honest and supportive, and who care about what’s clinically best for the guest. At the end of the day, for both of us it’s all about helping people.”
The treatment team at The Ranch works closely with other mental health professionals and treatment centers to ensure that clients receive seamless care. During and after treatment, The Ranch’s team provides regular updates to communicate the client’s progress and treatment goals, any changes in their medication regimen, and other pertinent information.
“We provide care that is cohesive, coordinated and collaborative,” said Michael Baron, MD, MPH, FASAM, The Ranch’s Director of Behavioral Health. “Instead of going to a psychiatrist in one town and a therapist in another, for example, clients at The Ranch have all of the resources they need in one place.”
At Piney Lodge, clients have access to 24-hour nursing care and two board certified medical doctors with over four decades of collective experience. Designated therapists are assigned to each client at Piney Lodge so that in addition to detoxifying and stabilizing, clients are introduced to core recovery principles and the 12-Step process, if clinically appropriate.
“At Piney Lodge, detox does not occur in isolation,” said Christine Bates, MA, a therapist at The Ranch who leads a mindfulness practice group at Piney Lodge. “Clients receive medically assisted detox and psychiatric stabilization, but they also have the opportunity to develop a few recovery tools in the process.”
The Ranch’s collaborative approach extends to its own team as well. Clients receive integrated, closely coordinated care at all levels, from the psychiatrists, nurses and therapists to the residential assistants and other staff. The Ranch’s treatment teams meet every morning to discuss clients’ progress and needs.
In addition to cutting-edge detox services, The Ranch offers stabilization and comprehensive treatment for a wide range of mental health disorders, from depression, anxiety and trauma to psychosis and complex co-occurring disorders. Clients have access to a blend of traditional and alternative therapies, including equine therapy, art therapy, Brainspotting, medication and acupuncture, so that they find the therapies that work best for them.
“Because of its team approach, its staff-to-client ratio and its breadth of services, The Ranch is able to treat severely wounded and traumatized individuals who would likely need referrals to outside providers at most treatment facilities,” said Becca Davis, the residential manager at The Ranch. “Clients with high acuity thrive here because they feel safe and they have access to all of the services they need in one place.”
