We can all do our bit by actively discouraging any of our friends or family that we see drinking and then driving, regardless of whether they are over the legal limit or not.
(PRWEB UK) 29 July 2013
Road safety charity Brake has renewed its call for the Government to take a zero tolerance stance when it comes to tackling drink drivers in England and Wales and is urging all drivers to seriously consider the impact that drink driving could have on their own and others’ lives before getting behind the wheel inebriated.
According to data released by the Association of Chief Police Officers, of the 100,892 drivers breathalysed in June, 5,170 failed the test. Even though the number was a decrease in comparison with June 2012, Brake is urging drivers of all ages to take responsibility before they cause serious harm.
Car Loan 4U Director Ryan Dignan, comments:
“Every year in the UK and right across the world, lives are ruined due to accidents involving drink driving. As we’re now in the season of summer parties, music festivals and staycation holidays it's vitally important that we all take responsibility to prevent such accidents from occurring.”
“Even though the figures from the Association of Chief Police Officers suggest that the amount of people drink driving is reducing, over five thousand people were still caught in the act in June and that’s a lot of potential tragedy just waiting to happen.”
“We can all do our bit by actively discouraging any of our friends or family that we see drinking and then driving, regardless of whether they are over the legal limit or not.”
