Farley Center Offers New Options for Those Struggling with Addiction in Virginia
Williamsburg, VA (PRWEB) July 29, 2013 -- The Farley Center at Williamsburg Place, recognized nationwide for their successful programs treating addiction, has launched a new intensive outpatient program (IOP) for those who struggle with moderate or early stages of substance abuse. The program consists of a combination of group therapy 4 times a week with family participation during one of those sessions. The IOP program also addresses co-occurring disorders, which means that in addition to the physical addiction, psychological root causes are also taken into consideration.
“We typically are more familiar with images of those hitting ‘rock bottom’ on television and in movies,” added Dr. Melissa Lee Warner, MD, Medical Director. “In fact there is a full spectrum of dependency from a clinical perspective. Just as in any other disease, there is greater hope for recovery if we are able to diagnose the symptoms early.”
The IOP Program is the latest expansion of the Williamsburg Place campus, which added a psychiatric hospital to the campus in 2012, and will be located at 1309 Jamestown Road in Williamsburg, VA. The new location is intended to provide treatment in the least restrictive setting possible and allows patients the opportunity to maintain employment and improve work performance, as well as to maintain their living situation.
