CDPHP Employees Hit the Links to Raise More Than $8,900 for Charity
Albany, NY (PRWEB) July 30, 2013 -- It was a beautiful day for raising money – and clowning around – as 180 CDPHP® employees, family, and friends hit the links at the Western Turnpike Golf Course in Guilderland for the 12th annual CDPHP® Hurricane Classic Golf Tournament.
The event raised $6,636 for the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Capital Region (RMHC) as golfers enjoyed a full day of fun, food, prizes and lots of laughs with Ronald McDonald himself.
RMHC is the golf event’s “Foundation Charity,” with a majority of the proceeds benefitting the organization each year. A portion of the proceeds also supports CDPHP’s annual Charity of Choice campaign, a yearlong fundraiser that features more than a dozen employee-driven events. This year’s designees, Habitat for Humanity Capital District and Capital Region Sponsor-A-Scholar, will receive $2,300 to be shared between the two charities.
"This is another great example of how CDPHP employees come together to raise money for such important charitable organizations," said John D. Bennett, MD, president and CEO, CDPHP. "Our employees are committed to supporting many worthwhile causes in our community."
"We are humbled to be part of the CDPHP family and very grateful for their continued support," said Jeff Yule, executive director, RMHC. "From raising much-needed funds, to cooking meals for our family, to beautifying our gardens and cleaning our Ronald McDonald House, CDPHP employees and their families play a significant role in keeping our doors open to families in need."
