• Nearly doubling the income stream for the BCBA’s treasury
• Fulfilling the objective of “modernizing” the BCBA to support the attorneys and citizens of Brazoria County, Texas.
“It was an honor to serve as president of the Brazoria County Bar Association,” Powell said. “My accomplishments are not just my own but belong to the other association officers and board members who supported me with their dedication and hard work during my tenure.”
Powell has practiced law in Brazoria County since 1998. He and his father, John S. Powell, lead The Powell Firm in Pearland. He specializes in small business and family law. Powell is also a skilled mediator working with other attorneys to resolve cases amicably and with less expense.

The group meets once a month at the First Baptist Church of Angleton and a half hour of continuing legal education is offered at each meeting.
After serving a year, Powell’s tenure as president ended in June. Mr. Patrick Bulanek, an attorney of Alvin, Texas, is now president with Powell taking on the role as immediate past-president.
